Depression is just a word. It means less to me than it does to you and I’m the one who’s living it.
I live. I love. I laugh.
And you’ll believe all my lies.
Because she does too.

The world is a stranger.
But everyone thinks they know me.
My body has all the answers.
But my mind can’t understand them.
I’m drowning everyday.
But I never go near water.
The air in my lungs is toxic.
But I’m breathing all the time.

You’ll think you understand.
But how can you?
Even with her, I'm alone.

Review: Vicious by L.J. Shen

L.J. Shen has kicked off 2017 with the hottest and biggest bang with her new release Vicious, the first book in her Sinners of Saint Series. A story that will have you falling in love with Vicious, a complete jerk and craving his character when he's not on the page. And Emilia, a heroine who has such a great energy, fire, and spirit you want to be her best friend and hang out with her. Together these two create an explosive story that will have you locking yourself away in a quiet space to devour every single word.

L.J Shen is one of the best authors around today. She knows how to deliver characters that are multifaceted and Vicious proves it once again. She seamlessly tells Vicious and Emilia's story with a blend of present time and flashbacks.  When all is revealed, you're left loving a story that makes you laugh, ache, smile, and say "what?" and fanning yourself more than a few times. I can't say enough how much I love this story about the thin line between love and hate.

If you're looking for a fantastic, sexy story to start the year, look no further than Vicious by the talented L.J. Shen.

A Note From E

I want to start off by wishing all of you the happiest of New Years. As the year begins I'm thinking of what I want this blog to be. 2016 was not the most productive of years. I had to cut down my time on the blog and did the minimum to keep it going. As the only person on the Jazzy World of E's Bookshelf it was hard to not do reviews and spotlights as much.

The reasoning behind it was that I spent all of 2016 caring for my mother. In November of 2015 she was diagnosed with cancer. I was with her every step of the way through countless hospital stays, chemo and sadly her final days in hospice this December.

I spent the last few weeks seeing what I plan to do next. One thing is for certain. I love books. The Jazzy World of E's Bookshelf blog is something that I've loved doing and this year will be my third year doing it. I'm planning to jump in and bring it back up to a place people come to find new authors and books. It might be a little slow but I promise to make this the best page possible.

Last year there were more than a few authors who won spotlights that I wasn't able to do. I will be contacting them to get those scheduled throughout the year. So keep an eye out for that.

Also the Book of the year contest  which normally happens in December will happen this week.

I adore this book world and the support you have given me. I love meeting new people and finding new authors. I will continue to share the love. Hopefully, 2017 will be a great year for all of us.

Cheers and Happy New Year!
