Mini Review

Steph Nuss's story of two friends and their unrequited love was one of the sweetest stories I read this Year. Wanted By You is the story of Carter and Elly, two people who met Freshman year of college and became the best of friends. Under their friendship are  feelings that run deeper. After a span of not being in touch after college, fate intervenes and this is where the story really takes off.  What made this book one of my were the characters. It's not just Carter and Elly who you can't help but love, it's also their friends and family who bring so much to the story. I also enjoyed the sports and pop culture references in the book too. Wanted By You is just an all-around great story, that will make you laugh, love and possible cry a little.

Mini-Review

Madison Street's debut novel, Little Things is book that I still think about, it is a story that has unexpected dark turns that leave you shocked. This is one of the reasons it stuck out to me. It deals with a subject that you don't see too often in a novel. It's not your traditional boy meets girl story. It's so much more and Madison does a good job telling the story of Duke and Raya. I don't want to give away too much, but it you are looking for something darker with the promise of hope, read Little Things by Madison Street.

Review: Extra Curricular by Jake Malden

Review

Gavin McClain is back and is even naughtier than ever. Gavin and his nephew Josh set a wager one night at a German bar after they run into Josh's co-worker Christina and her teacher Amanda. Which one will be the first to seduce the unknowing ladies? What transpires from here is a story that is full of sex and major twists that will leave you saying oh my gosh, more than a couple times. If you've read Jake Malden's previous Gavin stories, Extra Curricular takes it to a whole new level that leaves you blushing as you're eager to read what's next.

After reading this, it is easy to say that Jake Malden is fantastic when it comes to writing an erotic story. His situations and settings are unique, and the debauchery in this book alone, leaves you thoroughly entertained. What I liked about Extra Curricular was you actually had a little more insight to Gavin and there are moments that you wouldn't think occur after all his previous escapades. I thought the incorporation of Josh added an extra element that brought on a story I still can't stop thinking about. Josh is definitely his uncle's nephew and he offers his own style that makes you want to see more of his character in the future. Jake Malden once again delivers with his always intriguing Gavin McClain. He is a character you can't help but love and hate. If you are looking for incredibly hot story that you won't forget, look no further than Extra Curricular by Jake Malden. This is a story you don't want to miss.

Review: The Syrian Virgin by Zack Love

The Syrian Virgin by Zack Love is a beautifully written story about a young woman's journey from the tragedy she endures as a result of the Syrian Civil War as a 15 year-old, to a young woman starting to live her life again two years later.  Anissa's story is told through diary entries where she recounts her life from the start of the Syrian War to her current life as a college student. The harrowing journey has you gripped from the opening pages and leaves you feeling shocked and heartbroken for Anissa to the point you have to stop for a moment. 

Out of the destruction she does slowly rebuild her life and it's in college that Anissa starts to open up. She meets Maya, a friend who she instantly connects with and two men who will no doubt change her life. Michael is the Syrian-Christian student who she is enamored with from the beginning. Julien, her billionaire professor who may have more in common with her than she thinks. What this leads to is a remarkable story.

Zack Love does a superb job with The Syrian Virgin. He takes you on a emotional journey with Anissa that you are going to remember for a long time. He makes you think, cry, laugh, get angry and gives you hope as you read this book. At the end of it, you are eager to get your hands on the next book in this series. The amount of research that went into this story is evident in every single page. Zack brilliantly takes current events and turns it into a contemporary romance that unlike any other book out there. After you read it you want to know more about the situation going on in Syria and the Middle East.  The Syrian Virgin is a book that needs to be on your must read list. I can't recommend this book enough. It's a thought provoking story that is Zack's best book to date.
