Review: Dom Wars Round Six by Lucian Bane & Aden Lowe

Synopsis

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES EIGHTEEN AND UP DUE TO EXPLICIT SEXUAL SITUATIONS, AND STRONG LANGUAGE
When Gladiator Inc, an adult toy company expands their market to familiarize the ‘vanilla’ world with the elements of BDSM, the result is a pay-per-view reality show with video feeds streamed live to subscribers.

The show, Dom Wars, is a competition to determine the Top Dom that will become the spokesperson for the company.

The contestants all wear cameras to film every moment and angle of the competition, while they complete various challenges to determine who has ultimately Dominated various elements of themselves.

The hero and heroine of the series, Lucian Bane and Tara Reese, have barely made it into the Sixth and Final Round of Dom Wars. This week-long Survival Round will determine the Top Dom, once and for all.

The contestants are taken to an uninhabited island, where they will have to cross formidable jungle terrain. First Dom to reach the boat anchored on the other side of the island wins the million dollars and the title.

Seems simple. Except Lucian’s old adversary, the Sadist Jase Duff from Round One, has been tasked with making sure none of the five teams make it to the boat. If he is successful, he wins the prize, only it's not money that Jase Duff cares about, its revenge on Lucian and Tara. And his sadistic need to inflict pain makes it game on.

Review

The final round of Dom Wars takes you on a wild ride that has you weary and nervous as the story progresses. Lucian and Tara along with the Preacher and Becca have to survive a week on an island that is controlled by the sadistic Jase Duff. As they approach each challenge,  a new obstacle presents itself. What unfolds is test of physical and mental endurance. Will Lucian, Tara, Preacher and Becca be able to make it off the island? You'll need to pick up Dom Wars Round Six to find out.

The one thing I loved about the Dom Wars Series is that what I thought it was going to be about is actually not that case. Again,  Lucian Bane with the help of Aden Lowe proved this again. I honestly didn't expect this round to progress the way it did. I kind of had some idea, but these two authors took it to the next level and kept you at the edge of your seat.

What has driven this story from the beginning is the characters, Lucian and Tara. The progression from Round one to Round Six, shows how far theses two have come. With some series it can get a bit repetitive, but this isn't the case with Dom Wars. One of the things I love about reading Round Six, was the relationship between Lucian, Tara, Preacher and Becca. The way they interacted as a team throughout this round made me love these characters even more. I also loved the development of the Preacher and Becca in the story. They are  standout supporting characters in Round Six.

A final book in a series holds a certain expectation for a reader. Will it live up to the standards set in the previous books that made you fall in love with it in the first place? Or will it let the reader down? Dom Wars Round Six definitely lives up to the series' previous books. Bane and Lowe did a fantastic job with the series finale and should be proud of it. I'm looking forward to reading more from these two. If you haven't read this final book or the entire series, go get your copy today.

  1. Breaking Free is the kind of book that makes you laugh ( and cry ) out loud! A must read.
